The Neurobiology and Pharmacologic Knowledge of Bipolar Disorder
There are still currently gaps in the perception of bipolar disorder in its complex neurobiology and then developing new therapies. Genetic, biochemical, psychosocial, and environmental stress, as well as the progression and severity of bipolar disorder may play a role in its complexity. In a review, researchers assess current knowledge of the neurobiological foundation of bipolar disorder. A lack of understanding of the exact pathophysiology of the disorder is related to the complexity of developing new treatments, but pharmacologic treatment for patients with bipolar disorder is critical.
